FMCSA National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners
The FMCSA National Registry is the federal resource for verifying professionals certified to conduct regulated commercial-driver medical examinations.
Verify the individual examiner
Search for the actual professional conducting the DOT physical, not simply a clinic name. Medical credentials and current listing status are individual; unrelated clinicians at the same office may not hold the same authorization.
What Registry status does and does not mean
Registry membership relates to qualification to perform the regulated examinations. It is not a guarantee that an individual driver will receive certification or a particular certificate duration.
What to ask a clinic
Request the examiner’s full name, license type and current Registry information before the examination. DOTSTG has not independently verified individual practitioner profiles for publication.
Current NRII reporting role
Certified examiners also participate in federal reporting procedures under the National Registry II transition. Refer to FMCSA’s current information about medical result transmission and the licensing agency’s records.
Official references and next steps
This educational material is not medical advice, not an examiner’s individual qualification decision, and not a guarantee of a medical certificate. Ask a licensed clinician about your medical condition. Federal and Utah guidance may change.
